TravelTelly is committed to protecting your privacy and expects each User to protect the privacy of other Users. The terms of this policy apply to all TravelTelly websites, unless different terms are provided.
This website is owned by TravelTelly and may be accessed by TravelTelly, its Users and processors in the Netherlands and abroad. Please be aware that as a result personal data collected may be retained, and may be stored, processed, accessed and used in jurisdictions whose privacy laws may be different and less protective than those of your home jurisdiction.
Personal Data Collection
TravelTelly collects certain kinds of personal data. We differentiate between information you enter yourself, information that’s collected automatically, and information we obtain from other sources.
Information provided by yourself
When you create an account, we only require you to provide an email address, a username and a password.
Public profile information
When you have an account, you can further fill in your public profile. Among others, you can enter a display name, your website, and the camera and photography apps you use. Your username is also part of your public profile. Please be aware that this is public information and can be viewed by other visitors.
Location information of photos and videos
If you’re a contributor, we require you to provide the location the photos and videos you upload. You can choose to either give the exact GPS coordinates (which might be pre-loaded automatically from the file’s metadata), or to give only the country and area.
Photo and video metadata
When you upload a photo or video to TravelTelly, the uploaded file’s metadata is stored, such as the date and time of capture, the camera used and location information.
Information collected automatically
Logs of our systems can contain your IP address, browser type and language, navigational information and access times.
Based on your IP address we determine your approximate location and use it to show prices in the correct currency.
We collect your exact location if you’re a contributor and allow us to do so through both your account settings and your mobile device’s permissions.
Please be aware that users without a PRO account can view your anonymized location (to get a sense of how many contributors TravelTelly has and where they are), whereas PRO users can view your non-anonymized location (to help them make location-based requests).
To protect your privacy we only store your most recent location (we don’t keep a history), we don't save and display your exact coordinates (we only store one decimal place, so 1.2345 is stored as 1.2, and we add a small random component to your location when displaying it), and we remove your stored location when it hasn't been updated in two weeks. Your stored location is removed when you disable location access through your account’s settings.
Information obtained from other sources
If you allow us to do so, we can collect information from third parties to create your account or to complement your account’s information. For example, if you choose to sign up for TravelTelly through Facebook, we collect your email address from Facebook to create an account at TravelTelly.
Sensitive payment information such as your credit card number and billing address are not collected by TravelTelly, but are sent directly to Stripe, the platform we use for payment processing. TravelTelly only collects information to identify and reference successful transactions, such as their dates and times, the transaction amount and the items that were bought.
