Beautiful Prague

Prague is a beautiful city trip destination. Walking through Prague is a pleasure with all the historical buildings surrounding you. There are so many interesting places found in this city. Prague Castle Prague Castle is the biggest castle in the world (according to Guinness Book of Records; the biggest ancient castle) at about 570 meters in length and an average of about 130 meters wide. The way to the castle is uphill, so it’s a bit of a hike but it is worth it. In and around the castle you have many spots where you can take a photo. You’re not finished quickly at this place, because there is so much beautiful history to capture like the St. Vitus Cathedral. The castle buildings represent virtually every architectural style of the last millennium. The Prague Castle includes Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral, Romanesque Basilica of St. George, a monastery and several palaces, gardens and defense towers. Charles Bridge Probably one of the most famous bridges found in Europe, is the Charles bridge; which crosses the Vltava river in Prague. It’s a beautiful bridge to take photos/videos from at different sides. The Charles bridge is a busy place, where many people pass by and is definitely a touristic highlight. Part of the fact that this bridge is so beautiful and popular, are the 30 baroque statues situated on the balustrade. So don’t forget to walk over the bridge and capture these statues. Old Town Square surrounded by historical buildings, the old town square brings you back into a historic scene and is the perfect place to capture a lively scene of people in a historic setting. On a cloudy day you could make some cool time lapse videos of the historic buildings and the moving clouds. Statue of Harmony - a memento of Sri Chinmoy Chinmoy Kumar Ghose, also known as Sri Chinmoy, was a Bengali artist, religious teacher and poet who immigrated to the U.S. in 1964 and is the founder of the religious organization "Sri Chinmoy Centre Church, Inc.", better known as "Sri Chinmoy Centre". A well-deserved statue of Chinmoy stands close to the Vltava river and next to the Kamp museum. From the statue you have a different and nice view of the Charles bridge and the city. From here you can really think about where you are and enjoy the moment. “If you can create harmony in your life, this harmony will enter into vast world.” – Sri Chinmoy Take your time, walk around and enjoy the beauty of this historical city. We love Prague, as the city offers so many places that are great to capture. All the city’s tourist attractions are in walking distance and make Prague a must-visit city trip in Europe! Nothing tops Groningen

In the North-East of The Netherlands lies the province of Groningen with its capital, also called, Groningen. The slogan of the city is ‘Nothing tops Groningen’ (in Dutch: ‘Er gaat niets boven Groningen’). It is a great city trip destination. You can even fly to Groningen’s small international airport close by the city. (Groningen Airport Eelde is located 10 kilometres (6 miles) away and has connecting flights to places like Gdansk (Poland), London (United Kingdom), Copenhagen (Denmark) and other holiday destinations. The city is known for its vibrant student life and this is one of the reasons that there is always something to do. Groningen skyline view. Made by Phoneographer/michieltheodorie You can find canals everywhere in The Netherlands and houseboats as well, like these in Groningen. Like everywhere in The Netherlands, the favourite transportation of the Dutch people is their bicycle. So definitely rent a bicycle and explore the city the Dutch way. You may not expect this coming from a foreign country; but you don’t have to be afraid of sharing the road with cars. The drivers are used to having cyclists, like you, around them and in The Netherlands they even have special bicycle in some places. Groningen city has an old and rich history. One of the famous landmarks of Groningen is the Martini tower. The historical centre is full of beautiful dutch architecture. And on many terraces you can grab a drink Van Swinderen Huys in Groningen The Netherlands Even along the canal there are terraces. When it’s sunny in The Netherlands the dutch can’t wait to enjoy the sun with a good cup of coffee or beer. In many Dutch cities you can do a canal cruise. It’s a great way to see the city from the water so we definitely recommend you try to do so. Don’t forget to visit the Groningen Art museum. The museum exhibits modern and contemporary art by local, national and international artists. And if you have more time, take a train to the city of Appingedam. A typical but beautiful small Dutch city with typical houses with famous hanging kitchens. Visit Groningen www.visitgroningen.com

The Netherlands. The land of many names

Yes we know it can be a bit confusing but what do you expect from a country where the weed is legal , shoes are made from trees and people look up to the sea ? :) The Netherlands is the official name but Holland, (part of The Netherlands with the provinces of North and South Holland }  is often used to refer to the whole country of The Netherlands To make it even more confusing for foreigners the language that they speak is Dutch. When you fly over this land  on a clear day you’ll see many lakes and rivers. The Netherlands are the roots of the creators of TravelTelly. and our home base when we don’t travel. We love to phoneograph our own country and love to see the community capture our small but beautiful country. You can find the beauty all year long. Autumn Lake in Drenthe, The Netherlands.
